The Alerus Center opened in 2001 primarily as the home to the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux men's football program. The Alerus Center box office is located at 1200 South 42nd Street on the UND campus in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The maximum seating capacity for concerts is 21,000 and the arena was built for $80 million. Alerus Center tickets have included other events like concerts by George Strait and Jason Aldean and shows like the WWE. The Alerus center had been in the mind of legislators since early 1984, but was only put to a vote in 1995. The Alerus Center’s most notable show was that of country singer George Strait. The show attracted 20,500 people to the facility in 2013 and has yet to be overcome.
